Oxidation response of ZrB2–SiC–ZrC composites prepared by spark plasma sintering

چکیده

Considering the importance and application of ultrahigh temperature ceramics in oxidizing environments, this research, effect ZrC content spark plasma sintering parameters (temperature, time pressure) on oxidation response ZrB2–SiC composites has been investigated. After fabricating ternary composite samples different SPS conditions with amounts ZrC, post-sintering process was carried out a box furnace at 1400 °C. Increasing caused decrease resistance samples. The reason for such observations attributed to extreme growth grains increasing despite better densification This research did not reach clear result about pressure behavior. amount also have positive because phase itself undergoes low temperatures.
